LANSING, Michigan – Michigan’s charter schools are hiring. And on February 22, teachers and other educational professionals will have a chance to be the first to apply for hundreds of new job openings for the upcoming school year. Michigan charter schools provide an environment that empowers educators to make choices that impact student outcomes through innovative pedagogies, strategies, and projects.
MAPSA, Michigan’s charter school association, is hosting a Virtual Job Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST on February 22, giving educators and charter school job recruiters a chance to connect online.
“There are so many benefits that come with working in a charter school, and we’re excited to showcase the hundreds of new opportunities that are available around the state for the coming school year,” said MAPSA President Dan Quisenberry. “Teachers love working in a charter school because they’re truly empowered with autonomy and flexibility to try new strategies in the classroom.”
At 11 a.m. on Feb 22, hundreds of new job postings will be released, giving candidates an opportunity to be the first to view and apply for wide variety of jobs online. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., job recruiters at charter schools around the state will be online and available to ask and answer questions. Recruiters will also be looking to set up interviews as soon as possible after that.
“If you’re looking for a teaching job or any other type of job in a school, this is one of the best opportunities you’ll have this year,” Quisenberry said. “Charter schools foster an adaptive education environment that empowers educators to try new strategies and push the boundaries of traditional teaching. You can search through hundreds of brand-new job postings and apply right away.”
There is no charge for teachers and other job-seekers looking to take part in the Feb 22 Virtual Job Fair. To participate, simply visit the Michigan Charter Schools Job Board and create a "Job Seeker" profile before Feb 22. Then, at 11 a.m. on Feb 22, once again visit the job board to view the hundreds of new job postings, and apply with your resume at that time.
